Astonished #2

I live in a city that has beautifully tragic storms. We have four seasons here, and the combination of hot and cold, rain and snow, humidity and dryness causes amazing storms.

Recently, we had a lot of rain. I love rain. It soaks the earth, and provides plants with their much-needed growth source, and gives us the water we drink.

The next day the wind blew. 70 mile an hour winds picked up in the night. By the time the first light came, there was devastation everywhere. The rain-soaked earth releasing large Ponderosa pine trees, whose roots could not hold these gentle giants in place came tumbling down. The power of wind on full display.

Job 25 talks about the power and glory of God. The pillars of heaven tremble, and are astonished at His rebuke. Verse 12 in this chapter talks about God stirring up the sea with His power. God desires to astonish us with the power of His presence. I believe He reminds us that with storms.

Let us praise our God who does the astonishing. “For the Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad!”

Job 26:11 NKJV
The pillars of heaven tremble, And are astonished at His rebuke.

Psalms 126 TPT
It was like a dream come true when you freed us from our bondage and brought us back to Zion! We laughed and laughed and overflowed with gladness. We were left shouting for joy and singing your praise. All the nations saw it and joined in, saying, “The Lord has done great miracles for them!” Yes, he did mighty miracles and we are overjoyed! Now, Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory! May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again. Those who sow their tears as seeds will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of glee. They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow, but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!
