Esther – Day #8

How many times in our lives have we had the opportunity to help someone but chose not to. It may even be someone we know, and although we didn’t help when we had the opportunity we watched God work out their need for them well.

God’s plans are sovereign. Detailed out for us at the beginning of time, but God didn’t make us robots. He gave us free will. We have the ability to choose where we help, what we do, and how we go about it. The ending remains the same, but God in His sovereign grace allows us to choose how we get there.

Obedience to this call equates to immediate fruit. Doing things in our own time bears fruit, but the journey takes much longer.

I believe that Mordechai was speaking prophetically to Esther in Chapter 4:14. He was laying out her options, but God allowed her to choose her path.

Option 1, stay silent. Allow God to raise up another person to stand for the Jews. This sounds okay until you read the next line, “the result of doing nothing is death for her and her family.

Option 2, do something. The result may still be death for her and her family, but you and I both know that we plus God is a majority.

Bet on the majority. God is faithful. For who knows whether you have been put in this place, situation, or friendship for such a time as this.

Esther 4:14 AMP
For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish [since you did not help when you had the chance]. And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this [and for this very purpose]?”
