Honey – Day #5

Leviticus 2 talks about the rules and procedures for bringing different types of grain offerings. A grain offering was a less expensive type of offering. Therefore, this type of offering would’ve been brought by someone who was poor.

The word for a person who would bring a grain offering gift to the Lord is nephesh. A portion of these grain offerings would be burned, with the greater portion being for the priests to eat.

The grain offering could be prepared in 3 different ways bake in an oven, fried on a pan, or cooked on a griddle. The bread was made with unleavened bread. The smell of the baking bread would produce a fragrant aroma that is pleasing to God.

Honey was not a nephesh, that could be burned in offering to the Lord, but honey was received as an offering.
Jesus came and gave His life as a living sacrifice for our sins. What is he saying to you today?
