The Wait #4

Posture in the Wait
The word posture is defined as the position in which someone holds their body when standing or sitting or a particular way of dealing with or considering something; an approach or attitude (OxfordLanguages.com).

The Lord has been asking me what posture is coming to me while you wait. Are you coming with faith on your face? Joy in your heart? Or are you angry and impatient? Are you allowing your emotions to lead your responses? God wants our lives to glorify him in every season.

Conviction. A God-shaped arrow directly struck into my heart. Bullseye. While my posture should’ve been one of a humble heart, down on my knees. Hands held out. I continue to come back to anxiousness and fear of not having enough.

I call out. Asking to hear from the Lord. I open my bible and there once again I find His peace. The Lord knows my need before I speak it out. He speaks a peace that passes all understanding. It is His peace that guards my heart and my mind during the wait. He reminds me that there are a plan and a purpose for me.

Allow your posture to reflect the hope you have, and it will be done for you as it has been done for so many before you. Posture matters, for it, is the reflection of your heart.

Matthew 6:30-33 ESV
“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
