Bloom – Day #7

God brings restoration. His restoration comes with the promise of abundance. In Joel 2 the promise that God’s people receive is that they will be abundantly satisfied through the blessing of His Spirit.

God promised to defeat Israel’s enemies and compares the defeat to the bad smell of millions of dead locusts. I have never smelled the stench of millions of dead locusts, but I can imagine that many dead bugs laying on the ground would not have a pleasant smell.

The renewal of the land comes when the God of all creation renews and restores His people. Renewing of the land includes new green shoots bursting forth from the ground, trees in bloom, and vines yielding produce.

These pictures of renewal were written to remind the Israelites of God’s provision, generosity, and faithfulness in the season of restoration.

I believe God is bringing us into a season of restoration. Your Spring is here, and the Creator of the universe is singing over you. “The dark has gone, the new is here. Come away with me, and I will nurture you so you too can bloom.”
