In Acts 10 Peter was staying in Cornelius’ home. He shared with the household the journey he had walked with Jesus.

Cornelius’ home was filled with a combination of Jew and Gentiles. Up until this point, the Holy Spirit had only filled Jewish people, but after Jesus ascended into heaven the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles.

God, used Peter to witness Cornelius’s household. The Holy Spirit fell upon all those, Jew and Gentile, who heard the word.

The Jews who were circumcised according to their custom and believed were astonished. As were those that were with Peter because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on both Jew and Gentile. They all spoke in tongues and magnified God. 

Peter went on to baptize the Gentiles there in the water in the name of the Lord. God used Peter that day to pour out his beautiful grace upon the Gentiles.

I am forever thankful that at that moment the Holy Spirit was extended to the Gentiles. 

I am living proof of the power of the Holy Spirit. He lives inside of me because of the grace and gift of love the Holy Spirit extended that day.

And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
